![]() ![]() If someone managed a game like this, I would want someone to have thought of squads purposefully interferring, just to troll others. (I suppose this should be stuff that isn't required for the mission to be completed, because random internet players are the way they are lol). Or, a utility strategem on one side of the map can signal one squad to the other that a key phase of the objective had been progressed. ![]() For example, an offensive strategem could arrive faster, or land more critically, if responded to by another player. This could all be done via strategem calls unique to those situations. One squad could cover the other while they complete an objective, or an objective could require squad cooperation at distant key points. I also think it would be cool to have multiple squads on the same map interact and cooperate with each other. I suppose this could be fixed by giving enemy pathing more purpose, and terrain more purposeful generation. For the most part, we're on mostly flat, open fields and simply run around walls (which may look varied on different biomes but are still functionally just walls). The maps we run around could be more interesting. Nothing wrong with a game being objective-based, but I want to use my weapons and kill stuff too, and not feel like we're stalled and wasting time doing so. The most 'efficient' way to play the game is to avoid scouts and complete objectives, which also happens to be anti-fun. Here are some things I've had in mind over the years: I hope they stay consistent and true to that stuff, but the game could also use some work to keep it fun and interesting. I really enjoy the game's aesthetics, sound design, humor, the way the weapons feel, etc. Join over 2,000 other Helldivers in our Discord! Again, this isn't going to be enforced heavy-handedly, it's not like a single off-topic rant is bannable, but if you start spamming links to cash-for-click sites or whatever, you will get banned. This includes affiliate links and unrelated content. While we won't ban negative comments and so forth, if you have a repeated history of making caustic remarks for the sole purpose of being confrontational, we won't hesitate to ban - regardless of how monolithic you think you are in the community. We're not enforcing this rule as a form of censorship, we're enforcing this because subreddits tend to get lots of new players, and the last thing we as a community should do is make people tuck tail and run. Clearly jokes and stuff are fine, but if you're harassing someone, that's not cool. Other than that, have fun, and be excellent to each other! We're really passionate about the game, so we ask that posts in this subreddit be relevant to Helldivers - other content should go on /r/gaming or /r/games. Stay tuned for more details and we’ll share them here at Shacknews as they drop. This is an unofficial subreddit for Helldivers. Helldivers 2 is supposed to drop on PS5 and PC sometime in 2023, but we don’t know exactly when yet. It may be changing up a bit, but based on the trailer, it looks like Arrowhead still has a good handle on mixing zany chaos into good third-person co-op shooter gameplay. We featured the game this very year in a Big Team Building livestream and had an absolute blast even 8 years later. It’s also remained as one of the most chaotic and fun co-op shooters around. The original game came out in 2015 and has seen a wealth of content expansions following its release. You can see the debut trailer for the game below.Ī new Helldivers game was a delightful and unexpected surprise to say the least. ![]() That said, you’re still gunning down bugs with your friends and calling in all sorts of fortified military ordinance to get the job done, all while trying not to decimate your teammates or get decimated by your foes in the process. The camera is set behind players this time in a third-person shooter format. It looks like it will be very similar, and yet quite a bit different in a few ways from the previous game. The game is slated to launch on PS5 and PC platforms sometime this year. ![]() Helldivers 2 was officially unveiled on the PlayStation Showcase 2023 presentation on May 24, 2023. What’s more, we’ll be launching into the fight for Super Earth sometime in 2023. Helldivers 2 will come to PlayStation 5 and PC. Now, Arrowhead Game Studios is returning to bring us a sequel on new platforms. Helldivers was a much beloved co-op shooter in 2015 and has brought plenty of players together to bring deadly diplomacy to the galaxy. ![]()
